Location
The OAESA is located at Satyanagar, Bhubaneswar in front of Big Bazzar, about 2 km from Bhubaneswar Railway Station and 6 km from Bhubaneswar Air Port at a longitude of 85° 50´ E & latitude of 20° 15´ N and at an elevation of 45 m above mean sea level. The climate of Bhubaneswar is very pleasant throughout the year. During winter, average temperature is 12° C and in summer 42° C. The annual rainfall in the city is about 154 cm. Humidity varies from 40% to 90% throughout the year.
Historical Background
The OAESA though functioned since inception of Agril Engg. wing in the state, it was registered in the year 1992-93 under the societies Registration Act (NO-XXI of 1860) at Bhubaneswar.
Aims / Objectives / Mandate
- To create a separate directorate of Agril engineering in the state like that of at Madhya Pradhesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Chatisgarh, Assam & Sikkim.

To strengthen the profession of Agricultural Engineering by promoting information exchange, improving communications, minimizing duplication of activities, and optimizing use of resources. To act as a repository of information on agricultural engineering

To support, at the state, national & international level, the activities of Agricultural Engineering societies or related associations and to maintain liaison among them.

To maintain liaison with other similar organization and association devoted to the advancement of Agriculture, Technology & Engineering skill.

To provide leadership and co-ordinate network of research on Agricultural Engineering activities with different state & national Agricultural Engineering Organizations for generating location-specific technology and value addition.

To provide input to State Government for policy interventions with respect to
agricultural mechanization, promotion of non conventional / renewable energy, irrigation
and drainage, water management, soil & water conservation , post-harvest management, food processing , preservation, packaging, dairy technology etc

To provide consultancy on the above related agricultural engineering activities &
to collaborate with relevant national and international agencies in achieving the above objectives.

To protect the status, dignity, honour, morale of its members. claiming parity with other engineers of the state & nation.

To promote & improve the technical skill, standards of its members & to provide relief to the members & their family at the time of distress.
